About the Director

Tameka Harper, MPA

Tameka Angola Harper, MPA started her path in Student Affairs during her undergraduate years at Georgia State University as a member of Incept, the New Student Orientation Corps, and was identified by the Vice President of Student Affairs to participate with the new emerging leaders’ class. Ms. Harper held titles/offices such as Ms. African American GSU, Dance Team member, Police Cadet, Homecoming Queen, and Student Body President. She finished her B.A. degree in Speech Communications with an emphasis in Political Communications, and a minor in Sociology from Georgia State University. During her time at GSU, she realized her passion was in student leadership development and advocacy. She later received her Master’s Degree of Public Administration in public management from the University of the District of Columbia in Washington, DC. As a Metropolitan Washington Council of Government’s Fellow she administered one of D.C. Government largest Internship programs for Law School students and aspirants. Ms. Harper is currently completing her doctoral degree in political science at Clark Atlanta University. During her matriculation at CAU she served as a member of the faculty and developed programming in the division of student affairs focusing on Student Leadership Development. She is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and served as the Greek Life Advisor for the NPHC. Ms. Harper is concluded her three-year tenure as the Corporate Director of Student Services with a proprietary school comprised of several campuses in the state of Georgia to join the proud Bulldog community of Wilberforce University.

Harper brings with her experience in student leadership development, first-year experience programming, commuter life, student organizations advising and support, Greek life, event planning, and leadership development.

As a member of the Division of Student Development and Enrollment Management for Wilberforce University, Harper’s main responsibilities are advising the Student Government Association, co-advising the Greek Life, supporting student organizations, leadership development, and student event programming.
