From the Desk of President Elfred Anthony Pinkard:

As we prepare for the Thanksgiving holiday and the end of the fall semester, we are reminded of the challenges we have faced in 2020. Without a doubt, this has been a difficult year for most of us as we have had to confront and adjust to a new normal and a new way of living our lives.

It is important that we acknowledge this has been a tough time, but it is equally important that we acknowledge that we have survived and come through it. Let us see our victory as a celebration of our strength and resilience and the Grace of God in our lives. There will be an end to this pandemic, and we will survive to happier and easier times.

During this time of thanks and giving, let us be reminded of our many blessings and the power and presence of God to bring us to better and more joyous days ahead. Our magnificence cannot be diminished by this pandemic. We bear the history and imprint of generations of outstanding individuals who have shaped the identity of this great University as students, faculty, staff, administrators, and alumni. In spirit and grit, Wilberforce University stands among the best and although we have experienced challenging times, as Wilberforceans, we have earned the right to be unapologetically proud and hopeful about our future.

I would like to announce that, for the Spring semester, we will return to campus in a hybrid model. We are excited to welcome our students and faculty back and we are continuing to outline the most effective protocols to assure the safety of the entire campus community. More specific details regarding the Spring semester will be forthcoming after the Thanksgiving holiday.

Thank you with heartfelt and deep appreciation for your commitment to cherishing, supporting, and loving Wilberforce University.

In this season of thanksgiving, I wish for each of you…

A new year filled with light, love, and abundance…

Enough laughter to sooth your heart and soul…

The sun on your face and the wind at your back…

A tight and long embrace from those who love you…

An exquisite memory of a moment of pure joy…

            A 2021, full of God’s love, favor and a hopeful future…

We are Wilberforce!

Suo Marte.
