Job Summary

This position is responsible for initiating all aspects of the Women’s Volleyball program, such as recruiting, scheduling opponents, individual training, coaching team members, and tryouts.  The purpose of the position is to develop excellence, to mentor and challenge student athletes to grow spiritually, academically, and athletically. Abide by rules and regulations established by Wilberforce University, the NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics).

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspect of the Wilberforce Volleyball Program
  • The position requires a commitment to recruiting and graduating student athletes.
  • Schedule games, and transportation/accommodations for road games with the approval of the Athletic Director.
  • Disciple and assist with character development of student-athletes.
  • Supervision; preparation and oversight of program budget.
  • Assist and provide fund raising efforts aimed at the support of the Athletic Department.
  • Public Relations, assist in the development of public relations with local constituencies aimed at gaining support for the WJU volleyball program
  • Run/manage summer volleyball camps under supervision of the athletic department.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to Wilberforce mission statement and philosophy, the NAIA, and conference rules and regulations
  • Knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the game of volleyball

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Successful High school or collegiate coaching experience; and or played on the collegiate level.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to Wilberforce mission statement and philosophy, the NAIA, and conference rules and regulations
  • Knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the game of volleyball
