To protect students’ financial investment, the following review will take place:

1. If a student currently owes a balance to the University based on their establishment of a payment plan for the spring semester and/or a prior balance, we will offset the pro-rated amount against the amount that is still outstanding. There is a possibility that the amount the student currently owes offsets the total and there is no refund due to the student.

2. If a student received institutional aid from the University in order to cover their direct cost of attending the University, the student will not be eligible for a refund. The institutional aid amount awarded to the student for attending the spring semester of 2020 will be adjusted accordingly.

3. For freshmen, sophomores, juniors and returning/or non-graduating seniors) who do not owe the University, the pro-rated amount of the refund will be reflected in your 2020-2021 academic year financial package as a room and board scholarship. If the student is a graduating senior, the pro-rated amount will be refunded via check if #1 and # 2 do not apply.

Note: The Business Office will calculate a pro-rated amount of unused room and board charges per student based on the scheduled date students were to exit from the residence halls. That means the pro-rated amount will be based from March 16, 2020 through May 8, 2020. Any potential refund amounts will vary based on the application of Federal Financial Aid guidelines, current unpaid balances and the specific original room and board charges applicable to each student.
