The Wilberforce University campus welcomes the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), April 19th. This organization governs and accredits colleges and universities. There are five major criteria for accreditation: 1. Mission, 2. Ethics, 3. Teaching and Learning: Quality, Resources, and Support, 4. Teaching and Learning: Evaluation and Improvement and 5. Resources, Planning, and Institutional Effectiveness.
Some HLC members will visit the campus virtually, others will arrive at Wilberforce, April 19th. The campus community is excited for our visitors to measure the university’s overall growth. It’s part of our strategic plan’s Focused Vision for Prominence.
One of the programs of which WU is proud is CLIMB. It gives working adults with at least 45 semester hours an opportunity to finish their college education.
“CLIMB has the potential to become the premier, accelerated degree plan of action for adult learners.” – Dr. Kimberly Hardy Porter, director, CLIMB
“I’m at another level in my career because of CLIMB.” – Kevin Carter, CLIMB grad
