This past Friday, the U.S. Small Business Administration Great Lakes Regional Administrator Rob Scott, signed a Strategic Alliance Memorandum with Wilberforce University, along with Central State University, the Cincinnati African American Chamber of Commerce, Central Ohio African American Chamber of Commerce, City of Columbus and Ohio Department of Transportation. The mutual agreement will lay the groundwork for supporting and strengthening Ohio’s HBCU community by increasing opportunities for students in the state’s entrepreneurial ecosystem through curriculum development, internships, and job fairs.
The SBA hopes to strengthen this entrepreneurial community by raising the capacity of HBCUs to participate in federally funded programs, strengthen access resources to fulfill their educational and service missions, and provide HBCUs with the information needed to access and compete for federal grants and contracts.
